Blessed

Two posts in one day may never happen again, but I felt like sharing tonight. I have been following the blogs of two women whose walk with Christ has been challenged through things that have happened to their children (www.mycharmingkids.net and audreycaroline.blogspot.com). Both of these women have stood strong in their faith, and it always amazes me the strength they have when I read their posts.

After reading MckMama's and Angie's posts tonight I realized how blessed I am, and how I should share those blessings. I am blessed to have a husband who loves and supports me. I am blessed to have two beautiful, healthy children. I am blessed to have parents and siblings that are always there for me. And I am blessed to have some great friends I can count on no matter what. My life has not been without trial, and definitely has not been without error, but I am BLESSED to be alive! I am blessed to do a job that allows me to hopefully change the lives of children. I AM BLESSED TO SERVE AN AWESOME GOD WHO TAKES CARE OF ALL OF MY BURDENS IF I JUST LET HIM!!

I AM BLESSED!

Back to work...

...but at least the only kid I have to deal with is my own. Today our kids got the day off due to the roads being impassable in much of our county. It is nice to be eased back into the work week, but we lost a day of CRCT review. Our students start CRCT next week. Don't even get me started on how much I despise the idea of a standardized test judging what my students have learned. We are told to "differentiate" our teaching, but they (the state) give our kids the same standardized test, how fair is that??? Oh well, it is part of the job!

Alexas will take her first CRCT next week, and I am really nervous for her! She doesn't do well with the whole sitting still and not talking thing! Plus she tends to get nervous about stuff like that. I think she was happy not to have to go back to school today, though she is stuck at my school with me. Landon was happy to see Ms. Lois at daycare today, he gave her a great big hug! He is such a cuddly guy!

Spring Break Day 2

A total washout! We left the hotel for lunch, drove around a little, then back to swim in the indoor pool, but WHAT?? IT'S CLOSED! Apparently they had a chemical inbalance, who cares, all I know is I had a mad 6 year old who reallllly wanted to go swimming! Landon was knocked out, so we brought him in and laid him down, he slept for 4 hours! I joined him for about 2 hours. Lexi terrorized the room and watched tv. It rained ALL AFTERNOON! We finally had enough, woke Landon up, and off we went for supper and shopping. Drove over to Destin and hit the outlets, don't worry honey- I didn't spend TOO much money! :-)

We are supposed to go home tomorrow, that is if the roads are passable in our area! We will hit the beach one more time before coming home, hopefully get some good beach pics of the kiddos.

Spring Break 09

We made it to Fort Walton after 4 1/2 hours in the car with two crazy kids!

Ate supper, and hit the beach. I love the beach, such a peaceful place to me! I love knowing that the Lord I serve created such a beautiful and powerful thing!! I love listening to the waves crash, and knowing that the water streches much farther than I can see. I love watching Lexi as she runs in and out of the water squealing with delight. I love watching Landon's face as he takes in new things, and the way he clenches his fist when the sand touches it. I love when it is sunny enought to just relax and enjoy and let my worries drift away!
